Downgrading an Avaya IP Office from 9 and above to 8.1

The main reason you would do this is to retain the old Phone Manager client software as it will only run on 8.1 and bellow and most new systems will come out with version 9.0 or higher.

Avaya have Phased out the Phone Manager software and replaced it with OneX portal, but for some users this is an expensive upgrade as they may not have had preferred edition as it was not required for the Phone Manager Software.

NOTE: DO NOT DO THE DOWNGRADE WITHOUT THE DTE CABLE

Do the downgrade as you would normally do the upgrade, point the working directory to the 8.1 Bin Folder do the down grade.  Once the downgrade is complete get out your DTE cable and reset the security settings as you will no longer be able to get into the system with manager.  Click Here for the DTE settings and instructions.
